Wallpaper Wednesday - Mad for Wallpaper Guest Post

We are pleased to welcome Guest Post By Design Shuffle

We're still mad for wallpaper and excited to share some great rooms that use bold patterned wallpaper successfully.  Bold patterns and/or bold colors can be intimidating, but the impact when done right can be sublime.  We hope you are inspired with interior design ideas by these rooms that dared to use bold wallpapers.

Osborne & Little wallpaper creates a bold pattern in muted tones of blue and cream. Love how the curtains have a similar palette in a more subtle floral pattern.

Dark, dramatic black and grey wallpaper helps the flat screen TV blend in—always a plus. An overall black and white palette feels modern despite the traditional pattern of the wallpaper.

Love the silhouette patterned Richmond wallpaper from Osborne & Little behind the dining table.  The tonal stripe pattern is Dulwich stripe, also from Osborne & Little.

All over deep red wallpaper in a traditional Chinoiserie pattern adds drama to this living room design. Solid upholstery and curtains keeps the room feeling crisp and not too busy.

Gorgeous tan and cream damask pattern wallpaper is the perfect compliment to the French style furnishings of this living room. Traditional architectural elements like a chair rail and baseboards are painted a matching color to blend with the wallpaper. Getting any decorating ideas yet?

Another traditional wallpaper; this patterns is inspired by William Morris and the Arts & Crafts style. Love the grey and red with all the cream in the room.

A nook or small area such as a powder room or hall is a great place to use wallpaper. Love the rich yellow wallpaper and modern pattern in this living room design.

A large lattice patterned wallpaper in cream and green looks fantastic in this entry. The pattern may be bold but the large areas of cream keep it feeling simple.

  1. Love the red Chinoiserie! Looks a bit like Christmas - bright, jolly, very sytlish, but not so Christmassy to be unsuitable for the rest of the year!
